I will use Greek or Latin affixes and roots as clues to the meaning of a word.
I will consult general reference materials to find the pronunciation of a word or determine its precise meaning or its part of speech.
I will confirm my interpretation of what a word or phrase means by consulting a dictionary or seeing if the context supports my interpretation.
I will interpret more abstract figures of speech in context.
I will analyze the relationship between particular words to develop a more thorough understanding of each of the words.
I will analyze the connotations and denotations of words to determine which word is better to use.
