What is the CCRPI? (College and Career Readiness Performance Index)?

The State of Georgia Department of Education has been granted a waiver from the usual regulations of the No Child Left Behind law. The federal law requires that each State set high academic standards and implement an extensive student testing program which is aligned with standards and which measures students' achievement based on the standards.

Formerly, accountability for No Child Left Behind was based on AYP, or Adequate Yearly Progress. Instead, under the new waiver, the Georgia Department of Education has designed a College and Career Ready Performance Index, including new guidelines for Pre-K - 12 schools. This changed our accountability emphases and practices as of the 2012-2013 school year and continuing into 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 school years.
