Devan Rees was named Teacher of the Year at Glynn Middle School. She has taught 7th-grade Math, 8th-grade Math and Language Arts, and Algebra.

Who is your role model? My role models are my parents because they raised me to be the person I am today. They taught me the importance of hard work and have always been supportive in all of my endeavors.
What book has most influenced you? “Oh, the places you’ll go” by Dr. Seuss
What is your greatest teaching memory? Every time I have helped a student see their potential and watched them discover their own abilities and talents with math. Helping students build their confidence in their mathematical abilities is the best reward.
What is your favorite quote or personal motto? “Teachers who put relationships first don't just have students for one year; they have students who view them as ‘their’ teacher for life.”
What is a fact about you that most people don't know? I am a huge fan of Disney. Growing up, my dream job was to be a Disney princess at Disney World.
Any hidden talents or hobbies? I enjoy offshore fishing, binge watching tv shows, and reading.
