Carter Akins, Ed.D.
Principal
 
Dr. Carter Akins assumed the role of Principal at Glynn Middle School in June 2021. In joining the community of Glynn Middle School, he looks forward to striving for excellence and making a positive difference. Helping teachers with Georgia Standards of Excellence, promoting solid instructional strategies and curriculum programs, overseeing district curriculum and assessment initiatives, working with families on new ideas for students, and getting to know students, families, and staff, are just a few of the many ways he seeks to enhance teaching and learning at Glynn Middle School. Akins previously served as Principal of C.B. Greer Elementary School from July 2017 - May 2021 and Principal of Oglethorpe Point Elementary School from July 2012 - June 2017. During his tenure at C.B. Greer, the school was recognized as a Title I Distinguished School, and students excelled in academics. During his tenure at Oglethorpe Point Elementary, the school was recognized with the Silver Award for Highest Performing by the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement and moved students on to greater academic achievements. Prior to the principalship, Akins served in the elementary school setting (C.B. Greer Elementary) as a classroom teacher, Instructional Coach, Coordinator of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme, and Assistant Principal.  He is a graduate of the University of Georgia (B.A. in English) and Georgia Southern University (M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and Ed.D. in Educational Leadership), and he completed teacher certification at Armstrong Atlantic State University and the gifted endorsement at Valdosta State University. Akins enjoys the excitement each day brings at school, and he is proud to be a Glynn Middle Hurricane!

Todd Collier
Assistant Principal
 
Todd Collier was named Assistant Principal and Athletic Coordinator at Glynn Middle School in 2019. Prior to moving to these roles, Mr. Collier served as  Physical Education and Health teacher, head football coach, and athletic coordinator. Mr. Collier is a graduate of Armstrong State University and Troy State University. He continued his studies at Columbus State University with an add-on degree in Educational Leadership. Mr. Collier graduated from Glynn Academy and is excited to be part of Glynn Middle School. He looks forward to continuing his educational career as a Hurricane with the amazing students, staff, and parents of Glynn Middle School.

Marie Feazel
Assistant Principal
 
In July 2024, Glynn County Schools appointed Marie Feazel as an Assistant Principal at Glynn Middle School.  Ms. Feazel previously served as a member of the faculty and Instructional Support Specialist at GMS.  She is a passionate educator who seeks to inspire students and faculty to seek out dynamic learning opportunities.  Prior to her arrival at Glynn Middle, Ms. Feazel served as a social studies teacher and department chair at Glynn Academy.  While at Glynn Academy, Ms. Feazel was selected as the 2017 - 2018 Teacher of the Year and subsequently the 2018 - 2019 Glynn County Schools Teacher of the Year.  Ms. Feazel is a graduate of Judson College (B.A. in Social Studies Education), University of Southern Mississippi (MLIS in Library Science), and Valdosta State University (Ed.S in Teacher Leadership).  Ms. Feazel is excited to be a part of the Glynn Middle team and looks forward to a great school year.
 
 
Mahony
Nicole Mahony
Assistant Principal
 
Nicole Mahony transitioned into the role of Assistant Principal at Glynn Middle School in July 2022. Prior to serving in administration, Ms. Mahony taught in Glynn County Schools as a Science Teacher (Jane Macon Middle School) where she also served as Team Leader and Science Department Head. While teaching at Jane Macon, Mrs. Mahony was recognized as the 2019 - 2020 Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Mahony is a product of Glynn County Schools having attended Glynn Middle and graduated from Glynn Academy. Mrs. Mahony is also a graduate of the College of Coastal Georgia (B.S. in Middle Grades Mathematics and Science) and Valdosta State University (M.S. in Education, Ed.S. in Teacher Leadership). Mrs. Mahony is excited to return to her alma mater to work with students, staff, and families in fostering a climate of learning and growth!
