6: Getting Ready for GMS

Glynn Middle School looks forward to welcoming our rising 6 Graders for the 2026 - 2027 school year!

Take note of a few events planned for GMS:

Getting Ready for GMS - A Family Info and Q&A Session: GMS Administration and Staff will present information and hold a Q&A for families of rising 6th Graders.

- 1/26 @ BMES
- 1/27 @ SSE
GMS Showcase for Rising 6th Graders: GMS Staff will present a showcase at GMS for rising 6th Grade Students with a specific highlight/feature on middle school connections on February 13, 2026, at 9:45 AM. Elementary schools will coordinate this field trip for students.
Informational meetings with elementary school staff: GMS Administration and Staff will meet with elementary school staff to discuss important topics like scheduling and student supports.
Getting Ready for GMS - Family Info Night: Students and Families can visit GMS for an information session and tour of the school on May 6, 2026 at 6:00 PM.
Getting Ready for GMS - Hurricane Forecast: Rising 6th Grade Students visit GMS for a tour of the school and a brief introduction to a day in middle school. August 3, 2026, 10:00 AM - 12 Noon
Getting Ready for GMS - Open House: Rising 6th Grade Students and Families visit GMS for Open House. Date = August 5, 2026, 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Course Sign Up

In February 2026, GMS will share the Course Sign Up form. Families will use this form to identify preferences for certain courses for the 2026 - 2027 school year. For example, 6th Grade students may wish to sign up for Chorus, Orchestra, and/or Band. 8th Grade students may wish to sign up for high school courses like Health and Personal Fitness, Spanish I, and/or Algebra.
