Hurricane Pep Band

The Pep Band performs at all home GMS football games, pep rallies, and other events. All 7th and 8th grade students learn the Pep Band music as a part of their regular band class. Those that wish to perform at the football games can sign-up to be a member of the Pep Band.

Flip Folders and Lyres

In Pep Band, the students use flip folders to hold their music. Clarinets and Saxes also need a music lyre to attach their flip folder to their instrument. Flip Folders and lyres can be purchased at Horns Up or online using the Amazon links below.

There are different types of flip folders for the different instruments, here is a list of what each instrument needs:

Flutes: Flutist's Friend Flip Folder

Clarinets: Standard Flip Folder and Clarinet Lyre

All Saxes: Standard Flip Folder and Sax Lyre

Trumpets: Trumpet Clamp-On Flip Folder

Mellophones (F Horn): Trumpet Clamp-On Flip Folder

Trombone: Trombone Clamp-On Flip Folder

Baritone: Trumpet Clamp-On Flip Folder
